Najpierw powinnam Was przeprosić za moją długą nieobecność. Byłam dość zajęta, a cały wolny czas (nie żebym jako młoda mama go w ogóle miała, no ale cóż) spędzałam na pray w ogródku i robieniu przetworów na zimę. Odwiedziła mnie również siostra z córką i kuzynką, a potem ja wybrałam się na kilka tygodni do Polski na zasłużony wypoczynek.

Wracając jednak do tematu, pokażę Wam jak wykonać żyrafę z filcu. Jest to już ostatnie zwierzątko potrzebne do wykonania imiennego baneru.

I have been busy and all of my free time (not that I really have any as a Mum of a young child) has been spent on gardening and then pickling and preserving whatever my husband and I grew on our allotments and in our greenhouse. Coming back on Earth, the second reason I wasn't around was the combination of a visit from my sister, my niece and my cousin, and then me visiting my parents for a few weeks. I can tell you that it was what I needed.

Now, back to the giraffe: the last of the felt animals for the baby name banner.

Sposób wykonania żyrafy z filcu jest następujący:

Krok 1 Wybierz swój ulubiony filc i pasujące nitki. Generalna zasada jest taka, aby kolor nitek był zbliżony do koloru filcu, natomiast elementy mordek tj., wibrysy, buźki i inne, wykonujemy czarną nitką, żeby były dobrze widoczne.

Krok 2 Wydrukuj szablon w rozmiarze jaki chcesz.

Krok 3 Używając szablonu, wytnij wszystkie potrzebne elementy z filcu.

Krok 4 Zacznij od przyszycia nozdrzy (dwóch małych okrągłych elementów) do części mordki (do owalnego elementu).

Krok 5 Naszyj dwa małe, czarne koraliki na jeden z dwóch takich samych elementów w kształcie głowy, aby utworzyć oczy.

Krok 6 Następnie weź oba elementy w kształcie głowy i zszyj je, dodając uszy i ossikony (czy też guzy czaszkowe to prawidłowe nazwy struktur na głowie żyrafy przypominające rogi) w odpowiednich miejscach oraz pozostawiając niewielki otwór na wypełniacz.

Krok 7 Wypełnij głowę np. włóknem poliestrowym, a następnie zszyj otwarcie.

Krok 8 Weź najdłuższy z elementów w kształcie ogona i umieść jego końcówkę między dwoma mniejszymi elementami, a następnie zszyj je razem.

Krok 9 Na jeden z dwóch takich samych elementów w kształcie tułowia przyszyj łatki.

Krok 10 Następnie weź oba elementy w kształcie tułowia i zszyj je, dodając grzywę i ogon w odpowiednich miejscach oraz pozostawiając niewielki otwór na wypełniacz.

Krok 11 Wypełnij tułów i zszyj otwarcie.

Krok 12 Zszyj głowę z tułowiem i gotowe:)

Uwaga: Głowę i tułów można zszyć na dwa sposoby. Pierwszy sposób to przyszyć głowę na wierzch w miejscu gdzie powinna być szyja. Drugi sposób to wszyć część "szyi" do środka głowy, czyli przy wypełnianiu głowy wypełniaczem należy pamiętać aby nie zszywać otworu. No i oczywiście należy przy zszywaniu głowy pomyśleć zawczasu i utworzyć ten otwór w odpowiednim miejscu:)

The instructions for assembling the giraffe are as follows:

Step 1 Choose the colour of the felt and the threads. A good general rule is to choose thread in a colour to match the felt. Then black thread is great for adding facial details.

Step 2 Print out the design in the size you want.

Step 3 Cut out the shapes in felt, using the paper template.

Step 4 Sew the nostrils (the small circular pieces) onto the nose piece (the oval piece).

Step 5 Sew small black beads onto a head piece to form the eyes.

Step 6 Take the two head pieces and sew around the edges to join them, adding the ears and horns while sewing around. Leave a small opening to pack in some toy stuffing.

Step 7 Stuff the head and then sew closed.

Step 8 Take the two smaller (and rounder) tail pieces and sew them together, enclosing the end of the bigger (longer) tail piece.

Step 9 Take one of the two identical body pieces and sew the patches onto it.

Step 10 Take the two body pieces and sew around the edges, adding the mane and tail while sewing. Leave a small opening to pack in some toy stuffing.

Step 11 Stuff the body and then sew closed.

Step 12 Sew the head and body together and be proud of what you made:)

Important Note: There are two ways to sew the head and body together. The first option is to sew the head on top of the part where the neck part of the body piece should be. The second option is to not fully sew the head piece closed after stuffing, then to tuck "the neck part" inside the body and sew everything together, so that the neck part is inside the head.
